John was put into the flies' jail. Jack disguised himself as the queen fly and entered the nest. He looked nothing like her, but flies are stupid. John recognized him and shook his head in disgust. Then Jack said in his queenly voice, "Let the prisoner go." As they were about to open the jail cell, the real queen entered. She quickly exposed Jack who then asked, "You wouldn't mind letting us go anyway, perhaps?" They threw Jack into jail.
After Jack and John had sat in prison awhile, John came up with a plan. He told Jack to cut the window bars with his nails because John didn't want to use his nails. Jack began cutting, and every time, the guard looked at Jack, he stopped and smiled suspiciously at the guard. After five minutes, the bars were out of the window. Jack quickly climbed out and fell twenty feet to the ground. Next, John exited and landed safely. They then returned to the men. All the men were happy to see them, and they continued on their journey.
The men traveled for two hours, when they found something that looked like the artifact. Jack asked John if it was the artifact. John didn't know for sure so he radioed for someone to come check and then bring them home. Five minutes later, a plane landed and a man came off and confirmed that it was the artifact. Jack then said to John, "How come you didn't use that thing when we needed help?"
John replied, "Oops...sorry." They then boarded the plane and journeyed home. When they returned, the King was there to meet them. He congratulated them and then dismissed all of them except Jack. He said to Jack, "We have an opening in the military, if you want it."
Jack had been a changed man, after the second incident with the flies because he kept the other men's courage. Jack answered, "Yes, I'll do it, but I wish to know one thing."
"What?"
"What is that artifact for?"
"It's my favorite teddy bear."
"Oh?"
